Sync Open Tabs And Custom Search Engines In Google Chrome
Submitted by admin on Sun, 10/30/2011 - 08:34
Apart from speed and robustness, one of the best features of Google Chrome over any other browser is cloud sync. Your bookmarks, saved passwords, extensions, preferences, auto fill options and themes are automatically backed up to your Google account, so you can quickly restore them on any other computer. If you browse the web in your office computer and make changes to bookmarks, settings or change a password, the changes will automatically reflect in your home computer. While Google Chrome’s cloud sync is perfect, the developers have added two more options under the sync belt – the ability to sync open tabs and custom search engines. Before you head over to Google Chrome’s options page to enable this feature, type chrome://flags/ in the address bar and enable syncing open tabs and syncing custom search engines in Google Chrome:Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Relaunch now†to restart Google Chrome. Now go to the options page, navigate to “Personal stuff†and click “Customize†under your Google Chrome sync profile. You should get the option to sync open tabs and all your custom search engines, following is an example:

Submitted by admin on Sun, 10/30/2011 - 06:36
After trouncing people at Jeopardy!, IBM’s supercomputer Watson is all set to take on the bright students from MIT and Harvard as it faces off against them in a trivia match. The competition will be held at the Harvard Business School’s Burden Auditorium, tomorrow, i.e. on 31st of October, 2011. The competition is called the “IBM Watson Challengeâ€.Watson: The Genius GiantThe competition will be preceded by a symposium about Watson’s creation and future of technology at the MIT Media Labs titled “The Race Against the Machine: The Future of Techâ€. The challenge is aimed at showing how technology can change, and is indeed changing, business perspectives, said Professor Erik Brynjolfsson of MIT. The Symposium will also have a keynote address by David Ferucci, the “father of Watsonâ€.The competition and a bit of rivalryComing to the actual competition, there will be three teams – one from MIT Sloan, one from Harvard Business School and the other being Watson – fighting it out in the middle. The MIT Sloan team was chosen via playoffs. The Harvard students were chosen by two Jeopardy alumni. Each team has three students. As for Watson, it won’t be the full-fledged version, but a toned down one. IBM assures that it will be just as competitive.Watson aside, the rivalry between MIT and Harvard will definitely be there. The palpable tension of the friendly competition is evident from the statement by Brynjolfsson, who wants a large number of MIT peers to attend the event, so as not to be outnumbered by the hosts Harvard. As many as 200 MIT students are expected to attend. The MIT Center for Digital Business is sponsoring the event. We sign off by saying what Brynjolfsson said:The technology is changing the world.

Android gamers, here is some good news for you. One of the most anticipated games for the Android platform, Shadowgun finally landed in the Android Market a couple of days ago. The game comes from the developer of Samurai II – Madfinger Games – whose name is associated with quality games. In Shadowgun, users play the role of John Slade, who is the Galaxy’s most infamous bounty hunter. The role of John’s (user’s) is to hunt down and kill Dr. Edgar Simon. The game has amazing graphics, probably among the best you will ever see in an Android phone. The sad part is that the game only supports Tegra 2 devices for now. Non-Tegra 2 handset owners need to wait for a few more weeks, until Madfinger releases a version that is compatible with all other Android devices. Here is the market link of Shadowgun. In other gaming related news, Gameloft has released Tintin HD on the Android Market as well. As the name suggest, the game is based on the recently released movie, based on Tintin. The game has a typical Gameloft feel to it, and like most other games from the company, the controls of the game are pretty tough. The graphics of the game is also like any other Gameloft game. The game is not yet available in all regions of the world, so users need to wait until Gameloft releases the game worldwide. Alternatively, they can buy the game from Gameloft’s website as well.
